Mauli Goshala / Gosamvardhan Kendra

Over the past decade, Mauli Goshala has emerged as a dedicated centre for cattle care and conservation under the management of Yuva Gram Vikas Mandal. Located at Chincholi Phata, Kalamb Road, Kaij, the Goshala has consistently provided fodder, water, shelter, and health services to abandoned, elderly, and rescued cattle. Many of these animals have been handed over through police station actions or released by farmers who could no longer care for them.

During 2025-26, the Goshala successfully housed and cared for 67 cows, ensuring regular health check-ups, adequate nutrition, and safe living conditions. The institution also continued its work in milk production, farming, and animal breeding, while supporting cattle in load-carrying activities.

The Goshala is officially registered with the Maharashtra Gosamvardhan Commission, which provides support under the Pariposhan Scheme. In addition, contributions from local donors have strengthened the sustainability of operations, enabling the centre to maintain high standards of animal welfare.

Through its structured approach, Mauli Goshala has demonstrated how community-based initiatives can combine compassion with sustainability. By offering secure facilities, veterinary care, and nourishment, the centre has become a model for cattle protection and conservation, while also contributing to rural livelihoods and social responsibility.
