2025-26 Achievements
Since its inception in 2010, Akshay Balakashram has continued to provide comprehensive care and rehabilitation for orphaned, abandoned, single-parent, and needy children. Officially recognized under the Juvenile Justice Act in 2011 and certified in July 2020, the institution has established itself as a trusted center for integrating vulnerable youth into mainstream society.
During the academic year 2025-26, the shelter home successfully accommodated and supported 50 children, ensuring they received quality education, nutritious meals, structured daily routines, and physical exercise. The institution’s holistic approach fostered long-term self-reliance and personal development, combining academics with co-curricular sports and recreational activities to instill a love for learning and social responsibility.
The home’s fully equipped campus provided a safe and nurturing environment. Facilities included separate residential units for boys and girls, spacious playgrounds, school transport, uniforms, educational supplies, balanced meals, and recreational equipment. Dedicated staff ensured that children were guided with care and discipline, promoting both academic success and emotional well-being.
Despite operational challenges such as non-systematic admissions, delays in legal documentation, frequent policy changes, routine inspections, and a fixed capacity limit of 50 children, the institution maintained high standards of service. These hurdles did not deter the team from delivering consistent support and protection to every child under its care.
Through structured academics, social development programs, and community engagement, Akshay Balakashram has successfully steered its children toward a stable, empowering, and positive future. The achievements of this year reaffirm the organization’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable youth and equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in society.
